A bricolage of old style Zaramo drums; a battered stool beaten with sticks; a small Casio hand organ hooked to megaphone used years back to make public announcements; singers belt out songs on how to survive in the urban maze faced with unemployment, drugs & alcohol, Aids, unfaithful girlfriends and oppresive relatives. a stge dance choreography that veers between a non stop gymnastics workout, concert party like theatrics and humour; a perfomance energy that hits you like so much TNT,or better,like the Jaguar fighter plane that the group took up for its name.

In collaboration with the Forde Folk Music Festival and Rikskonsertene in Norway, TaSUBa is hosting a workshop with young talents within music and dance from Tanzania, Zambia and Norway. These talented artists have previously collaborated at the Forde Festival - the largest of its kind in Scandinavia, to much acclaim from an enthusiastic audience.

Jhikoman is probably Bagamoyo's prime artist at the moment. He spends his time equally performing in Europe and Africa, and he is known on both continents as an exellent songwriter and an engaging performer. We expect a large turnout of his local followers, so don't be late!

The Amani Ensemble play contemporary and traditional Tanzanian music, and the band is hailed as one of the prime representatives of Tanzanian band music today. They perform frequently at national and international festivals, and are currently preparing for a tour of England in December.
The concert will take place at our pleasant outdoor stage by the beach.

Mama Sambona is a play about the power of music. The performers are from Ahlen, Germany, in collaboration with young artists from Bagamoyo.
Frank Znort Quartet Saturday 17. October 8:00 pm
This 11-piece band is something truly out of the ordinary. They come all the way from Oslo, Norway with a lot of rythm, a lot of groove and a lot of fun. Their mix of jazz, rythm & blues and styles from the West Indies should be well suited for the Swahili audience. This concert is on our outdoor stage by the beach. The annual Zeze Awards gives recognition to outstanding artists (individuals, institutions or groups) who have worked tirelessly to fight for and promote certain aspects of culture. The recipients are normally given the Zeze Trophy, a Certificate and cash ranging from Tshs. 1,000,000 to 3,000,000.
